How do I tike?

Using a Live Play Create tike is easy. Children start by walking, soon they'll be running and then gliding.

tike makes learning to ride a bicycle as natural as walking. Sitting on the tike, kids first walk the bike forward. As they go faster they stride with feet off the ground for longer and longer periods of time, ultimately being able to pull both feet off the ground and coast. At first they tilt to one side or the other and their feet catch them like training wheels or a tripod would. Very quickly balance becomes second nature and they can coast for metres with their feet off the ground. To brake they just put their feet down and stand up.

Your child will be having too much fun to realise they are rapidly developing superior balance, reflexes, and coordination.

Children as young as 18 months can learn to ride a tike with just a few hours' practice.

Learning to balance comes naturally at age 2½.  At about age 4 to 6, your child may progress to a pedal bike, however the tike will continue to be a favourite toy for long after they can ride a pedal bike.
